March 5, 2025

Portsmouth, New Hampshire – The City of Portsmouth will implement a pilot program to provide its customer-facing staff dedicated time for administrative tasks, training, and staff meetings, the goal of which is to enhance the quality of service provided to residents.

This program will result in delayed openings for the Clerk, Tax Collector, and Assessing Departments on Wednesday, March 12, 19, and 26, 2025. For these three Wednesdays, the offices will open at 10:00 am instead of the usual 8:00 am.

City Manager Karen Conard said, “We appreciate the community's understanding as we implement efforts to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of City operations. We remain committed to providing exceptional service to our residents. Once the pilot program concludes, we will assess how successful the program was and take in any feedback from staff and the public to make recommendations for a more permanent schedule.”
