Want to learn where your family came from? Amanda Perrine will teach you how to start with yourself and move back through your family tree. Using a local family as an example, you will practice filling out pedigree charts and family group sheets, look at census and vital records, and see how to use Ancestry.com. There will also be a basic overview of what to do with DNA test results. There will be ample time at the end of the presentation for questions.

Amanda Perrine began her family history search at 12 after learning her great great grandmother may have been a bigamist and hasn't stopped searching since. She is currently the manager at Betts Branch Library in Syracuse, where she hosts monthly genealogy round tables and quarterly genealogy lock-ins. Amanda received her Master's in Library Science and Certificate of Advanced Study in Cultural Heritage Preservation from Syracuse University. When not at work on her genealogy she can be found with her husband and son exploring Central New York and beyond. apgen.org/profiles/amanda-perrine
