ParkMobile App & Resident Discount

Interested users download the free ParkMobile application from their device’s app store. Follow the prompts to load in contact information, vehicle and plate identification and a credit card to associate with using the app to pay for parking.  Pay special attention to ensure your plate number(s) are entered correctly!!

Once parked in a ParkMobile area, open the app and look for a Zone Number on the signage posted on the meter.  Next, enter the Zone Number and select the time you want to park and start the session.  Pay special attention to ensure you have chosen the vehicle (in the app) that you are actually driving (and parking)!!

As part of the ParkMobile rollout, the City is pleased to announce a new Resident Parking Discount Program. Qualified residents of the City of Portsmouth are eligible to receive a $.75 per hour discount from the hourly rate in any metered on-street or surface lot zone (garages are not eligible). 

How to Qualify for the Portsmouth Resident Parking Discount Program **

To apply for the Resident Parking Discount, complete the Resident Parking Discount Application at the City Tax Collector's office when registering your motor vehicle. The applicant completing the Resident Parking Discount Application must be listed on the registration of the vehicles to be included in the program.

Renewing motor vehicle registration via mail please include The Resident Parking Discount Application when returning registration documents. 

Renewing motor vehicle registration online or signing up for the program after registering your motor vehicle, please visit the Tax Collector's Office in person and complete the Resident Parking Discount Application. You will need to provide the following documentation when applying for the program and not registering vehicle at same time:

                Proof of Identity:

                - Valid New Hampshire driver’s license with Portsmouth address.

                - Current Vehicle Registration with Portsmouth address for each vehicle.

                and

                One of the following for proof of residency

                 - Current (within 30 days) paystub

                 - Current utility bill showing name and Portsmouth address; or

                 - Current, fully executed, notarized rental agreement showing name and Portsmouth address.

The discount will expire on the same date as the motor vehicle registration for related vehicles. You will need to fill out the form annually when renewing the motor vehicle registration.

Note:  Applicant completing the Resident Parking Discount Application must be listed on the registration of the vehicles to be included in the program.
