Pick up a video recording of the play to view at your leisure, and then join us on the last Tuesday of the month at 4 PM to discuss your experience with The Bard’s work.

If you were planning a house in 1700, you would not consider building clothes closets or kitchen cabinets, yet it’s nearly impossible to find a mid-20th century house without these features. Join us as architectural historian Elizabeth Cromley explores the fascinating transformation of American house architecture, focusing on the rise of designed storage solutions between the 18th and 20th centuries.
Sage Clarke is back to offer free weekly yoga classes on Tuesday evenings from June 18 to September 3! Join Sage from 6:30-7:30 PM for an hour of outdoor, all-levels yoga in the library garden.
Classes will be held in the secluded PPL garden at the rear of the building. Our focus will be to move and awaken the body, find a mental respite from our busy lives, recharge our spirit, and fully enjoy our precious summer. In the event of bad weather, we will meet under the tent in the field next to the library, or inside.
Arr! Adventure Begins at the Portsmouth Public Library during our Summer Reading Program Kick-Off Party on Monday, June 17. The field behind the library will be full of fun and games from 6 - 8 PM including an inflatable obstacle course, popcorn, face painting, big bubbles and more! There may even be a visit from a pirate! And don't forget to sign up for our 2024 Summer Reading Challenge! Read and listen to books, record your minutes on Beanstack then visit the library to earn prizes. We have Summer Reading Programs for all ages from birth to 99!
