Enjoy the selected play of the month in the way ‘twas presented: to the masses! Pick up a video recording of the play to view at your leisure, and then join us on the last Tuesday of the month at 4 PM to discuss your experience with The Bard’s work.

Fascinated by Japanese flower arranging? Come learn about its practice and history at a demonstration and exhibition of Ikenobo-Ikebana at the Portsmouth Public Library.
 

At 12:30 pm on Friday, July 12, a Japanese floral exhibition will be unveiled in the library’s lobby. Shortly after, at 1:00 pm, there will be a demonstration of Ikenobo-Ikebana in the Levenson Community Room. All are welcome. The exhibition runs over the weekend until noon on Monday, July 15. Registration is not required.

Ikenobo teachings called “Senno Kuden taught, “Not only beautiful flowers but also buds and withered flowers have life, and each has its own beauty. By arranging flowers with reverence, one refines oneself.”

The Muppets are back in action in this classic movie for all ages based on the novel, Treasure Island, written by Robert Louis Stevenson. The Muppets set sail in search of treasure, with Jim Hawkins and Long John Silver.

These monthly meetings encourage conversation among community members about sustainability, climate change and it's factors. The conversation will begin with a presentation by experts to set the stage for a larger discussion among those in attendance.
